refund policy

Last updated: 7 May 2026

the short version

Not happy? Contact us within 30 days of payment. We'll refund you in full, no conditions, no questions.

our commitment

River Notes offers a 30-day full refund on all paid plans — River tier subscriptions. If you're not satisfied for any reason, we will refund your payment in full.

To request a refund, email hello@rivernotes.app with your purchase date and the email address associated with your account. We will process the refund within 5–10 business days. The refund will appear on your original payment method via Stripe.

subscription renewals

Annual subscriptions renew automatically each year. If you are charged for a renewal you did not intend, contact us within 30 days of the charge and we will refund the renewal in full. We send renewal reminders by email before each billing date to help you avoid unintended charges.

partial refunds

We do not offer partial refunds for unused subscription time beyond the 30-day window. If you cancel an annual subscription mid-year, your access continues until the end of the paid period.

statutory consumer rights

New Zealand (Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 / Fair Trading Act 1986)

If you are a consumer in New Zealand, you have statutory rights under the Consumer Guarantees Act 1993 and the Fair Trading Act 1986 that are not limited by this refund policy. This refund policy does not restrict or exclude those rights.

Australia (Australian Consumer Law)

If you are a consumer in Australia, you have rights under the Australian Consumer Law that cannot be excluded, restricted, or modified. This policy does not limit those rights.

European Union (EU Consumer Rights Directive)

If you are a consumer in the European Union, you may have a right of withdrawal within 14 days of purchase. We extend our 30-day policy regardless of these statutory minimums.

disputes

If we're unable to resolve a refund request to your satisfaction, New Zealand consumers may contact Consumer Protection NZ or the Disputes Tribunal. EU consumers may contact their national consumer protection authority.
